Writing

Below are some of my favorite pieces, including self-contained short stories, excerpts from novellas, scripts, and poetry.

First-Person Platformer | 1801 words
Kickshot 2 is a silly, in-progress revival of a smaller game, Kickshot, which is focused on animal humor. The evil Bradley has stolen the animals' toys, which is what their world runs on. You play as either Mittens or Rex, using your rocket to propel yourself through speedrunning levels.

Novella | Excerpt: 4247 words
Untruth is an exploration of mental health in conformist societies. In my own experience in various communities such as these, I found that I needed an outlet to explore my own process of healing. This way, I could hopefully touch other people, especially teenagers, and help them understand that they're not alone.

Minimalist Fighting Game Script
This was a script I wrote with the intention of having a very minimalist narrative for an alt-control fighting game. Because our intended game experience was only around five minutes, the script was written in order to every play through feel like the correct one.

Short Story | 2913 words
I wanted to explore my own secret desire for a "soulmate," and how a character would feel if they... well, I'll let you find out!

Short Story | 4200 words
With this piece, I explored a darker genre than I had normally written at that time. I had had a very vivid dream, and I wanted to capture that in a way that was digestible. Ultimately, I was trying to hearken back to the feeling of early American short stories.
